FAQ

Payment, transfer timelines, refunds — the things buyers actually ask.

How do I pay?

Through Afternic, a GoDaddy company (card, PayPal, or wire depending on region). You never pay this site directly — that is deliberate. Buy instantly via the Afternic button on any domain page, or agree a price with us first and we set it up on Afternic at exactly that price.

How long does transfer take?

Usually 1–5 days end to end. If your registrar is GoDaddy the transfer is often same-day; on any other registrar Afternic’s transfer team walks you through it.

What exactly do I receive?

Full ownership of the domain in your own registrar account: you become the registrant, you control DNS, renewal, everything.

Can I get a refund?

Afternic protects you before the deal completes: your payment is held by the marketplace, and if the domain is not delivered you get your money back. After a completed transfer, sales are final — which is standard for domains, since a name cannot be "returned" unused.

Do you accept lower offers?

Every listing takes offers and we respond to all serious ones. Lowballs get a polite counter, not silence.

Is the valuation tool accurate?

It gives an honest range with a stated confidence level, anchored to real comparable sales where they exist. Any tool that gives you one precise number is guessing with confidence it does not have.

Are there any buyer fees?

No. Afternic’s marketplace commission is paid by us, the seller — the price you see is the price you pay.

Can you hold a domain while I decide?

Short holds are possible for serious buyers — mention it in your offer message.
